msd 6a can i?

Does anyone know if I can put an msd 6a ignition on my 87 n/a, because i called summit if i can or if i would need another kind of ignition but they said i would need the dis-2 ignition. Im asking because ive seen a lot of 2nd gens. with the 6a ignition on them on the internet.

Damn, why does everyone keep saying this. It has been shown manytimes that even on an N/A these will get you easier starting, better gas mileage and slightly better performance.

tahts definitly true, you do get better gas milage and it revs smother at high rpms. the 6al has a rev limiter but i dont think that function will work on our cars. it wasnt made for rotary engines in mind, but besides the rev limiter not working the msd is a good buy.

what is the difference between coil input and coil output? I have accel s/coils and I am trying to hook up my MSD but I need help. My car isn't fuel injected either. Do I have to hook any thing up to the distributer?

Why do you need a revlimiter? Doesn't the car already have an rpm based fuel cut? At least the 89-91s cut at 8500 according to the fsm.

Spend the money on a good set of plug wires instead. The stock ignition system is more then adaquate, an if you have a rough idle and poor mileage, there is another problem somewhere. Aftermarket parts should not be thrown at an engine to mask other problems.

The rev limiter is useless on our cars.
