I said it before and I'll say it again:
WHAT ******* 20 and 22 and 25 MPG ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ?
My TII can barely break through the 10mpg limit
...but I know for a fact that my cats are going up the "stairway to heaven" (catalytic heaven that is... ), so they need to go A.S.A.P...
....and also I must have a lead foot

I was considering an FB or FC as a commuter, and like a good member, I searched. So lets get this thread going again
I will start
My 8 gets 16mpg no matter how I drive it around town, and 19mpg on the freeway

I seem to get 19-20 regularly with my bone stock 91 vert.....I don't quite drive like grandma but I definitely don't beat on my car either.... highway mileage tends to be a tad higher, but I've never seen the 25 some people claim

Top Down, Boost Up

I only get 15-18 with my 88 vert, and that's with a good chuck of hwy driving. Of course, around here hwy driving is far different than people in the midwest with flat-for-miles roads. I tend to spend a lot of time at 4k+, but even if I baby it for a tank, I don't manage much better.
My 87 TII would get 10-15, with 10 being city driving alone and PLENTY-o-boost.

Copied directly from the FAQ sticky:
What kind of gas mileage does the FC get on average? What can I do to increase mileage?
The FC is a sports car, not a Geo Metro. Therefore, mileage on average seems to hover around 15-18 MPG city, and 23-26 MPG highway. If you are getting less, you either have a heavy foot or your car needs a tuneup.
As for increasing mileage, the first thing that needs to be done is making sure the car is in good tune. Do a full tuneup including plugs, wires, fluids, filters, timing, TPS adjustment and everything specified for the 60K tuneup (see Haynes/Factory service manual). Learn to drive with less of a heavy foot. Accelerate slowly, coast in neutral to stops, and keep the revs below 3800. A vacuum gauge helps (drive for most vacuum), as well as an A/F gauge (try to keep it in closed loop). You can get some great mileage if you are patient.

This topic comes up weekly, or anytime fuel prices get a little high. It has been covered many times in the past with always the same result: a bunch of people listing their mileage which averages out to the numbers in the FAQ.
