moving turbo?

this might sound really silly, but i've seen pics of real clean 13BT engine bays with the intake coming straight off the turbo to the cone filter. it looked like they moved the turbo itself more to the left and higher up for easier access.

is that actually possible once you remove enough of the extra crap in our engine bays? i didnt think it was

(1FastT2 has an excellent representation)

i'm more interested in having it there for ease of use and to make the engine bay look cleaner

right now getting to it is impossible, and very frustrating

Most of the aftermarket turbo manifolds move the location of the turbo out slightly.

NOTE *aftermarket turbos*

You *may* be able to find/create something that would move a stock turbo out of its location...

In order to move your filter right on to the turbo, you're gonna need a standalone. The turbo sitting up means aftemarket turbo, aftermarket manifold.

Once you reach that point...you go fast!

you have to bypass the AFM for that...this means HKS VPC or a full standalone (haltech, TEC III)

Not true. You can mount the AFM on an intercooler pipe.

That is true. And a pretty cool option to make engine bay look a little cleaner.

I hear this is popular with the Japan boys, but I've never actually seen it mounted like that...
