Moving the E-Brake Handle

Has anyone moved their e-brake assembly to the passenger side of the tunnel, like the 3rd gens?

WHY? It doesn't seem like to difficult a job. You could put it anywhere with the correct length cable. Just watch where the cable crosses over the tranny or drive-shaft so it doesn't get tangled.

Well, in my case, it's because the booger hits my leg when I drive. I don't know about moving it though, it sits in a pocket that moulded into the trans tunnel, and would look somewhat strange on the other side.. I thought about bending it a bit, if I ever got another FC.

Mine hits my leg, too, when I'm driving. I'm 6'4'' with a short torso and long legs. I was just asking to see if someone had moved it and how much of a bitch it would be to do so.

I don't understand how it can hit your leg. can you describe this?

Where does it hit? Does your leg(s) hit any other spots in the car???

Well, with the old seat, when down, the handle digs into my lower thigh.. my leg kinda sits kinked there, resting a bit on the edge of the lower dash. I'm 5' 10" but have long legs.

No, doesn't hit anywhere else in the car.. just there. Not a problem in the race car

Hmm... I am 6'2" and I don't have that problem. I couldn't even figure it out in my mind how you would.

So I even just ran out to the garage to see.

I guess if your leg was bent up funny, but I hit the steering wheel with my leg bent before I hit the brake, so I just had a hard time pictureing it.

Now I wonder does anyone have the problem on a series 5 car, where the brake is 1" further back?

I am 6'1 and the only thing I have trouble with is the damn stearing wheel. I am skinny but for some reason, I always rub it against my legs when I get in the damn car.

I have no problems, but that's because I sit on the correct side of the car...

Lol, maybe the next mod should be a couple of cans of SlimFast in the storage bins if your leg is hitting the Ebrake...? I too can't see how it works, but I have a series 5, so I geuss that's my extra 1" workin' for me. w00t!

Steve

P.S. Us 6' and over guys should start our own forum or support group or something

Don't make me implant your e-brake in your skull!
Jimmy: you would perhaps have to look at a j-spec car, otherwise your lever is going to be the wrong way? Or are they reversable? I haven't ever looked at mine. Perhaps you could just hammer out an area of it or something if you are really desperate.

They’re exactly the same. That’s why I have no problem.
