Mounting the TMIC in the front.

I am currently borrowing my friend's white TII hood(on my black GTUsTII)...as much as I like the TII hood I don't want to
A. borrow a hood and be held responsible if anything happens to it
B. have a white hood on a black car.

My question is: will mounting the TMIC in the front have any adverse effect? If I get custom IC piping(i have no clue where to go or how much it will cost) and mount it in the front will I be able to use the same piping when I get a bigger FMIC? I have an NA hood that I can use so I save the money instead of buying a TII hood..... Any thoughts?

Even mounting the top mount in the front nose would be an upgrade. That's a fricking stove in there on top.

As long as the piping is well designed and installed, then no. You should immediately notice the benefits of lower intake temps though.

Yep, just make sure you size the pipes for your planned mods.

cool...thanks.....I like the "look" of the TII hood but aesthetics isn't my number 1 priority.....I'd rather spend the 700 bux of a CF hood on rebuilding my turbo or getting a BIGGER FMIC, or maybe a standalone etc. etc. Thanks for the tips....I will post prices and progress......Anyone have the design needed for the IC piping? I want it to be as simple/effective as possible which means minimizing bends......anyone have pics or what degree bends are needed? Much appreciated

I would talk to wpgrexx about this, I seen his car the other day and his IC is still top mount, but he just moved it to the front of his hood (requires cutting a hole in your hood if your up for it)

save your money on a bigger fmic and get 2 stock coollers and weld them in sieres.
The stock coollrs are better than any aftermarket. The only problem with a FMIC is air flo to rad.

I can prolly buy one off my friend for 40 bux....and I have read about the reduced airflow to RAd and oil cooler.....I just got an e-fan for free.....It is a Fiero E-fan(which I have read works fine on out Rads.) I still have not intalled it mainly because I am not TOO sure of how efficient it will be.....

Only is you stuff up the pipework. Good pipes connected to a good core will decrease lag.
