Intake leak maybe. Check with some starting fluid.

TPS is throttle position sensor. RETed has a webpage that details how to adjust it.

OK. Get some starter fluid.

Idle the engine (with your foot ) and make sure your assistant has CONSTANT good pressure on the acellerator for idle. Then spray the fluid right at different parts of the intake system (MAF, TB, manifold gasket(s), etc..)

IF there is a leak, the idle will raise about 1000-1500 RPMs by itself. That will help pinpoint thegeneral area of the leak. as for finding the EXACT leak, that'll be tough w/o a mechanics stethoscope (sP?), but it's a start.

The TPS is the Throttle Position Sensor, located on the TB on the front side. It has 2 black plastic rods that extend out as the throttle is depressed.

any more suggestions welcome, i need them as soon as you can provide them.

another question, with the compression check will the reading be the same considering the street port or will it read lower b/c of it?

thanks in advance.

please help me!

the TPS is fine, we checked that.
any other ideas?

well here is the full story, i ran the car before i bought it, as we were going home(the owner was with us) i stopped to get gas, we got 10 gallons of 93, and 12 ounces of 2 cycle(to make the premix). remember the omp is removed from this car.

well i get back in the car after getting gas and turn the key, and it wouldn't start, the owner thought it was maybe flooded and pulled the fuse and re installed it, but it still hesitated for a while until it started up, then it ran fine.

but then later we got some new spark plugs because it was idling rough(street port) we adjusted the BAC also.

then i started her up, drover her around, and then came back did some cosmetic work and then started her up again to see howshe'd run(and if she'd start right up) and she dide but then after leeting it idle for a little, she stalled. then i just let her alone.

i left my house then after 2 hours and i had the stalling at under 1500 rpm.

thats pretty much it in a nutshell, maybe something in the new fuel i got?

i dunno just give me your input.

How big of a port job is it? Sometimes you have to set the idle up higher with larger ones.

Ok get a friend and some starting fluid. Have your friend start the car and hold the RPMs at 1500 or the lowest it will hold steady. Then spray the starter fluid around the intake and see if the engine RPMs go up any. If so then you have a leak. Now don't spray it all to hell now

ok cool i'll try it.

another possibility is this, the fuel pump is supposed to turn on and then stop once the system is pressurized, would a vaccuum leak cause the fuel system to depresurize? (with just the ignition on, not the motor)

No the fuel pump does not stop once the system is pressurized. Keeps running.

well it turns out last night while working on the car while it was dark even our incredible shop lights missed the fallen tube that goes from the intercooler piping to the intake manifold just behind the BAC.

anyways we noticed also the car isn't reaching full boost, any ideas? any common areas for a boost leak or may it ee something else?

Did you replace the tube and see what happens?
