more RX8 seat in a FC questions

I have tried searching. Cna somebody please post pics of RX8 seats in an FC.
I would liek to see what it looks like. Also why do people say you need to be 5'9" or under for it to work? couldnt you but aftermarket low brackets?

Please give some answers, lots are asking about this but i am not seeing any good answers. Maybe we could get Icemark to host a link on his website telling us the answers and somebody could link the that site for the answers. that would be pretty sweet.

both FD seats and FE seats sit a few inches higher than the stock FB and FC seats. I was going to put FD seats in my now parted out project car (think full black interior swap etc) and they just sat way to high for comfort. I'm 5'10" 130lbs and i wasn't pleased with the fit. Most 8 seats have side air bags which from what i understand arent easily removed . . . Its a neat idea but what are you willing to sacrifice for some cool looking seats. Sure they may be comfortable in the 8, but are they comfortable crammed in an fc? I can tell you it wasnt the case with the FD seats . . . GXL or TII seats are amazing for what they are.

Speaking of seats, here's whats going into my TII to replace the worn out TII seat. Unless it sucks then its coming back out >_> Teasting out the new camera

Why do people INSIST on asking stupid questions like this???

Do they drop-in fit?
NO.

ANY other seat NOT made for the FC will need to be custom fitted.
This usually means making some kinda adapter (bracket) to make them bolt in.

STOP asking us to spoon feed your asses...
If you want to do it, why don't YOU do it and report your findings back to us?
At least that way you're being useful instead of whining like a spoiled brat?

also if you look at the stock seat design, the rails arent flat. The inside one is up on the trans tunnel, so the stock seat have this rail up in the seat so that they sit low in the car.
So when you have to make a set of rails for your custom seat setup to inevitably make the seat hight higher. I.e now my 6 ft mate cant drive it (keeping in mind i have a sunroof model).
But yeah, just pull your passenger seat out & have a look at what i mean.

You've made it into my thread of shame matt22
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=717893

This is what you do though....... I am assuming that the FE seats have some sort of bracketry attached to the sliders like the FC seats do.
Remove said bracketry so the seat can sit as low as possible.
Place seat in car
Sit *** in seat.
Comfy?
Yes - go to hardware store and buy 3/16" flat stock and build adapters, take pics, contribute to society
No - Beat head on steering wheel in defeat and post about it.

I built the mounts/adapters for my Corbeau seats. It wasn't that hard at all. Took a night to do both. NOT HARD AT ALL. Welders help but I don't think they'd be neccessary. Excercise common sense and always go one size bigger on fasteners if in doubt.

Ok lets all sit back a sec. I am all about trying out new things to help other out.
A I don’t have a RX7 at the moment.
B I have owned a RX8 and found the seats to be incredibly comfortable.

I have seen more and more people post on this subject, but I still have not seen a single picture of it done. I saw RX8 Seats in an FD. That’s it. Oh and for all you people who think your high and mighty with 915 posts, you can maybe got out back and choke on a dick.

As I can say I am a Rotor enthusiast. Here is the small list of Mazda’s I have owned,
6 FB’s, 4 FC’s, 1 80 to do a Rotary conversion( Yes I realize you don’t even know what that is TitaniumTT So it’s the piston powered version of a RX3, oh and let not for what was the prize of my collection, an all stock fully working 72 RX2 Coupe. So I am in no way new to Rotaries, or this Forum.

That being said lets think about my questions with an open mind.
I wonder why so many people are asking about this. Maybe we should put together a list of reasons with pictures why this may not be the best idea. OR **** lets just flame the crap out of people because we have nothing more constructive to do.

I have said my peace. Matt22

YUP - Thanks for proving my point. I owned my first FC at least 2 years before you had a license. What's your point? Do you honestly think a post count is indicative of a person talent or knowledge? You're trying to defend yourself and make yourself seem high and mighty with your rantings about all the cars you've owned. Would you like to know why I think you've owned so many? I think it's becuase you lack the knowledge to fix them, or the talent to make them special. Care to post one glory shot? Now try to be a man & go out back and hang yourself maybe????

If you don't even own an FC..... why even bother creating a tread like this? Pure curiousity? Maybe you've never seen a picture of it becuase people have tried it and failed miserably becuase of the pysical dimensions of the RX8 seats. Making brackets to fit a seat in place is almost mindless. Do you have a level, a jigsaw, a drill and a hammer? If it the seat pysically fits... those are the crude tools you would need to mount it. Add a welder and a grinder and you can turn out a nice mount. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

I'm still missing the point to all of this. Are all you are doing is asking if it's been done? For proof of it?

*ignores all flaming*

In the first post matt suggests the use of low seat brackets, this obviously means he knows the seats sit higher than stock. I've seen Rx8 seats in a FB and they were done properly, let me see if I could dig up the picture.

Whats with all the flaming so early in the year? Happy New Years to you too :P

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=rx8+seat

it's for a fb but pretty similar to FC.

Thread cleaned. Please keep it clean.

Attacks on other members are not allowed, even when thinly disguised as advice. Well known members with large post counts who are very helpful are still not above the forum rules.

Seats from differnt chasis cars are always going to take some sort of modification. Some more than others. Good luck with your swap
