moonroof problemo

moonroof problemo

my moonroof on my S5 gxl only opens partially with help, like the pop up part only pops up when im pushing it and it will only go back about 2 inches with help from pushing, and thats as far as it will go.... so umm shitty.. can anyone help me out?

Clean up all the linkage joints and tracks, and use a little WD-40 on the joints. And try a very light coating of vaseline on the tracks.

When mine froze up like that, I had to remove the headliner and take the whole sunroof out of the car and clean the junk and rust out of the track and linkage. You would just use some WD-40 like ^ said, but if the problem is too far up the track to get to, like by the motor, then you will have to take it down.
