have another problem
so when i go to open my moonroof i can hear the motor turning but it doesnt do anything

BUT

if i use the little allen wrench thing to start opening it then use the motor it works fine as in opening it all the way and closing it.
but if i go to reopen it when its all the way closed i have to do it again

whats it going to take to fix it?

probably the cable is worn or broken. I've had to replace one before.
I went to mazda for an exploded diagram of the whole sunroof. Then took it apart and ordered the part that was broken. Hopefully it's not raining in oregon this week...

LOL

It's a bitch to take apart. You can usually find one in the classifieds if you don't want to attempt it. Its easy enough to swap over the roof part so you won't have to paint.

that may be fine if the cable and sliders are just worn, but if they are broken, that will do nothing.
