The vert was really nice but I loved the ending! Shooting the crap out of it was the best part. Boohoo he shot up an RX-7 with round tail lights. Big deal. If I had a nice amount of money and my car pissed me off, I would shoot it with a smile just like Jesse did. Anyways, the team sucked ***. They looked lazy and werent really into it. A better team would have done way better.

I don't know what your angle is, but anybody that tries to make a 1st gen look 'modern' is a dolt anyways. They are classics, and that is why 1st gens sell for more than n/a 2nd gens in the same condition. 1st gens are classics, 2nd gens are not.

When I first heard about it I thought they were going to put the engine into a sandrail or possibly just take off the body and make a new one out of pipe. they just choose wrong plain and simple, wrong car for the project. Lates Matt22
Oh and It was a good looking car.

3800 lbs?? With 4 people in it maybe. The s5 vert wieghs 3160 lbs from the factory. What a bunch of morons. It was a pretty weak crew working on the project. A bunch of whiny, lazy, amatures.

first off the outside was a nice car...the interior was not the best...the car was completely unusable for the challenge...might as waell have a challenge where you take a 3500 pound boulder and use nos to make it float....maybe better luck at that.

second the whole episode was a little weird...if you notice whenever they go outside the garage there are at least 2... 1 gens sitting right outside...someone had to know a little about rotaries...hell just sitting on the couch i was screaming every other minute about wrong **** going on...how could they expect a motorcycle drag wheel that is designed to carry a lightweight machine with too much hp, on 1 wheel...to do the job of carrying an obese car that probly does not have the power to win if all 4 wheels were hooked up.

third the paint job looked like an old bass boat..

and last of all which one of you went and stole the lightweight vert bbs wheels out of jesses back? pm me and i wont tell....i just know it was someone on this board...lol

I have to admit that its a shame that they tore up a 7 but verts are kinda ugly. and that dreaded blue interior. ewww. and the paint. nasty. I didnt know that they even made 100 spoke gold daytons that fit on a 7. If you think about it they ended up putting it out of its misery in the end. If my car looked like that id prolly shoot it too.

Tracers are cool!

by the way im not trying to badmouth the vert..actually there are a few previous posts that say...at least it was a vert....what does that mean? i think that an s4 coupe wouldve been the best choice ( not that it wouldve worked either) out of all rx-7S(2 gens) i own a vert and cant figure out why its ok to smash and hack them up but for some reason it would have been different if it was a t II coupe..( which are more often hacked up off camera and you guys love it, so you can get your cheap parts)

double standards?

ohhh and yes that was a much better ending to a failed episode than just pushing it into a crusher. that ****** looked hollow at one point you could see through the bullet holes..through the flames and right out the back.....optical illusion......one bad *** gun!!

Angry DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look what they did to my car. That car was identical to my car, except for the drivers mirror being a dark blue and my seat is covered in sheepskin. It would have loved to get the hood and trunk from that car. Mine are pealing paint.

Jesus christ, I can name at least 20 parts I could've used off that car! Someone needs to tell him he's got a problem with ANGER MANAGEMENT! But as long as he's got that gun, it ain't gonna be me!

Do most of you guys like that show?
I dont watch it anymore. I dont like Jessy. After I saw him get all bitchy about losing the challange with the herse I lost intrest. I think they need to get rid of him and have completely new teams every episode instead of the "boss" every time running the show. Things would be intersting.
Im happy hes calling the 7 a POS. He will go on underestimating the car and convincing others the same.
Until they get thier *** handed to them. Hopefully
Sky
<no longer a fan of monster garage> and I didnt even watch the 7 one

To ALL of you who don't like verts....

How many times have you had a cute girl you didn't know walk up to you and ask for a ride in your COUPE? Be honest. The vert is a girl magnet, I have given so many rides I have lost count. And it is a great car, drive one that has been lightened and juiced up and you will see it is the next best thing to a Ferrari vert. If you can't put the top down, what's the point??

I thought verts were great candidates for TII conversions? Because after they start having problems, you can buy them cheap. Doesn't THAT make them a good car? In stock form, they are still balanced handlers, and they have nice BBS wheels.

Enough with the vert bashing

Anybody with negative comments about RX-7 verts are missing the point. First of all you need to put its purpose and performance in context with when it was built. We are talking 15 year old technology here. Second a vert can be made to go fast just as easily as the NA coupe. They handle just as well and already come with better suspension and brakes. Lastly when all the ricers and kiddies are done molesting RX7's, the convertibles will be the most valuable as collector cars, just as most convertibles in any car line are. Look at the Kelly blue book today, verts have higher resale.

I curently have two rx7s one sport and the other a vert.
I have owned 5 other rx7s all series IV over the years including one TII. With the exception of the TII the vert blew all the others away in fun factor. The vert also handles better stock than the others did( not including the TII). The convertible is the one RX7 that I have owned that I will most likely keep for as long I live, especialy after seeing what Jesse Lames(misspelled purposely)did to that near prestine example. I will soon begin a TII swap in the convertible and I will have IMHO the best of both RX7 worlds. Before I got the vert I didn't think anymore fun could be had with an RX7, I was dead wrong. Others with verts know what I am talking about. Long live the RX7 convertible.

i didn't watch that particular episode however when i heard about it i was like...hmmm not exaclty the right car for the job, it is documented it is heavier than the coupe. I was thinking for a sand rail they are going to need to loose some serious weight on that bad boy. When I saw that clip that was provided earlier in the post (thanks) I saw the problem. Most of the car was still there. there was going to need to be some serious weight reduction. Also considering it was an N/A, and the N/A rotary is not exactly what they would call a torque monster, something that is rather important when building a sandrail. Even with a wet shot of NOS, it was going to be tough. Please take note that this post doesn't have a lot of personal opinion in it. Just the facts mostly state that the vert might not have been a good idea to use as a sandrail. Personally though I think when Jessie said the "car was crap", he might have meant it was the wrong car for the job. Although the the gatling gun was badass, the mood of the scene was bitter-sweet. I would never want to see that done to any car...well maybe a civic, but i digress. In conclusion they probably should have used a different car. just my 2 cents. I also write this post with only 3 hours of sleep..god damn fire alarm

Amen to that!!

IT's ok to cut the whole freaking car, but DO IT RIGHT!!! Why use some skinny drag style tires all around?!?!? One freaking tire won't do the job for the "3800lbs" car (I don't have any comments on that )!

The guy who was supposed to know about rotary sucks, my sister could've show him a thing or two

And then flat out killing the car just because the whole idea was stupid to begin with, and a full crew of retards. What was he thinking?!?
