Lightbulb Mod my hood?

So i have a spare hood for my 88 vert and was considering trying to modify a scoop or something similar.. i was gonna try and find a used sti hood scoop but think it might be a little much and not really functional. So i was curious if anyone has modified there stock hood at all and if anyone has pics that would be cool!

I had to vent my hood because my intercooler and radiator are now v-mounted. I searched all across the place for a decent option, but have you tried searching for "hood vent" or "hood scoop"? All you get is a bunch of ridiculous crap. Giant scoops, ricer non-functional scoops, screw-on louvres, etc. A NACA duct is easy to find, but wouldn't have done me any good since I need air to go out, not in. One day I saw an Evo VII sitting outside work so I took some measurements while he wasn't looking

This was the "in progress" picture. I've finished it up now, with the exception of priming and painting the underside, since cutting the steel hood will cause it to rust in those bare spots. Let me tell you though, what a pain in the *** this was. There are 3 layers to go through, and 2 of them are glued together.

I can, give me a minute. I haven't installed it yet, but this is what it's going on. Just imagine a turbo there, it's getting a rebuild.

Still not done. I have a little tweaking to get the vent to lay flat. I just hope it's in an area of low enough pressure to vent air out.

Yeah, but i couldn't get the guy to sell me that part. It looks like louvres or something.

I would suggest selling your extra hood (or both hoods) and getting a TII, or an aftermarket hood. I have yet to see a "customized OEM" hood that is as nice looking.

Mold it in looks awesome and functional

People will be quick to dislike due to being on drift cars.
Should perform better then that EVO stuff posted above since it has that angle in front of it.

I dont care how sideways a car is going or how JDM it is, I just dont like that look on the hood, looks like someone took some flat stock and made some **** that has no flow to it, just awful looking and you said it yourself it looks like a locker

Yeah, there is nothing sexy about those "sexy style" hoods. There are no curves, no subtle features just this angular in your face grotesque vent.... did I mention the vent looks like ****?
