The firewall ground goes to the back top of the motor where it meets the tranny, not too the throttle body.

There would be no reason to ground the throttle body, it is isolated by a plastic spacer and has no sensors that use it for for ground.

i didnt mean it like that.. i know it isnt connected to the throttle body i was just stating it was located around that area so people would have a better idea at where i was talking about... but wondering.. what could be the side effects of not having this connected?

Side effects would include erratic ignition, hesitation and "stumbling". This ground assures good signal to the fuel injectors and is a common source of the dreaded 3800RMP hesitation.

No doubt, replace it.

actually the ECU provides the ground... but one of the grounds for the ECU is the back of the engine.

There should be a thread on the top of the tranny right behind the intake manifold...that's where that wire runs to...

Run a 14 gauge wire between the two points with a ring terminal on both ends..
