Miata Steering wheels

Anyone know if the newer miata steering wheels will work in a 1990 second gen? Specifically Im looking at this one


Also, anyone know where I can find one of those? I looked on e-bay but couldnt find one.

That wheel has an airbag, and would not be compatible with any FC (including the 90-91 'verts with airbags).

the spline/mount is the same, however the electrical connections would not be, as well as you would have an explosive device 2 feet from your face.

Not exactly true. I flew big jets carrying airbags all the time. There are special rules and handling procedures, but it is done.

Also, You have put a lot of personal prejudice into your statement about bombs.
They do work as intended more often then not. That means they are worth having.
One saved my life.

If the splines are the same, you can use that steering wheel. You can remove the airbag stuff or you can leave it in there, it doesn't mater, you won't have a way to set off the charge anyway.

You'd have to have the cover off to install it anyways... take the bag out and sell it. air bags are expensive as ****.
