Exclamation metering oil pump

ok i finally figured out what was wrong with my car the mechanic said the engine code pulled up metering oil pump.......what is this and what does it do

It's a little device on the front cover that injects oil into the housings via little tubes and injectors on the lower intake and intermediate iron. To provide lubrication for the apex, side seals etc..

On an S5 it's electronic and when it fails it puts the car into limp mode so as to limit damage to the engine from lack of injected oil.

Rotary Aviation makes a nifty little adapter to allow you to inject oil of your choosing from it's own reservoir.

ok i looked up premixing but dosent the s5 have the comp sensor to put the car on limp mode???? if so how to bypass that when running premix??
