meh... (pic:-D)

Well, this is acctually in refrence to this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/really-low-idle-479527/

It never stalls, just idles low, easily starts cold and warm. So I'm not totally concerned, but I have some time to figure out why...later

That pic looks more like 500 rpm or so, not 200-250. Cranking rpm is 150-250, so you most likely aren't idling that low...

As a side note. For my last emissions test I lowered the idle to just above the fat line where the dashes start, idled fine there, and when I was on the dyno for my test it was reading 480-500rpm the entire time on their computer.

I would even call that 600 RPMs.....not 200-250. Cranking is supposed to be 240.....

Thanks for proving that to us though!

Mine idles right there as well and I don't have any problems with stalling or starting.

I don't like it there and the only reason it is there is because I haven't fixed it yet!

yeah...sorry buddy...that sint 200-250....... thats 700-750....... the first bold line is the 500 rpm mark.....not zero..... they didnt bother putting 0-500 rpms becuase the car will die if it goes down that low... so its pointless....... so, now you know!

It was just for emissions. Between lowering the idle, playing with the s-afc, and doing a few other stuff I was able to get it to be smooth at 480-500 rpm's, which was right at about the first fat line.

I still say his idle is more around the 600 mark, not 700+, but that hardly matters. The 750 mark is closer to 1k (3/4 of the way there), and I've verified this before on an s-afc while playing with stuff. My quote before with 500 was low, didn't look closely enough at the pic, but I'd still say he is around 600 or a bit more. His idle DOES seem lower than normal, but definitely not "low."

looks about 600ish to me, I always set S5's to around 850-900, get a decent timing light and it oughta tell you!

Oh, my mistake. I didn't know the first fat mark was 500! So, the area inbetween 0 and the first fat mark is just an area where the guage is to ineffecient to be accurate? Same w/the spedometer? My mistake, I always thought that the second fat mark was always where it started reading from 0. If you look at it that way it looks low. Thanks for letting me know people...later
