Mazda trix short shifter

I'm planning to switch out the stock shifter with the mazdatrix short shifter. Than replacing the shift boot, and shift **** with an FD's. It should look alot better than the current setup. But I was wondering how easy of an installation is it? Does it require taking off the stereo surround? How about the FD shift ****, should it fit without much work? Also, does the mazdatrix short shifter cause any vibration at all? Thanks.

Check out Mazdatrix's site. They have a video on how to install with directions, takes 15 minutes at the most I think. They also say that there is a chance it will vibrate/rattle not because of the shifter but it depends on your car. You do not need to move the stereo surround.

It's very easy and the fd **** just screws on. If you do it be warned that it will feel VERY tight for the first 100 or 200 shifts but after a while it will break in and be very quick and smooth.
enjoy

short shifters really only do take 15-20 and that's while hanging out drinking beer.

All I'm worried about is the vibration, not the installation. But I'm going to use the FD **** instead because it looks a hella lot better. Thanks guys.

I put in the short shifter, and then put my stock shifter back on. My friend bought a momo shifter for his FD so I stole his stocker and it works/looks good.

the mazdatrix shifters come with the bushings, too, right? My stock shifter with stock bushings are shot, and it's sloppy as hell. If the short shifter comes with all the bushings (which look to cost almost $100), then I'll be getting one soon.

The FD **** will only screw onto a 89-92 shifter. So whateer year your car is, make sure to order a 89-92 shirt shifter.

hIGGItrix short shifters are cut for both Zenki and Kouki threads - the types can be easily swapped between the cars if you need a specific thread type.
