Mazda Logo

Hi all, was wondering, why is it that the Rx-7's have no Mazda Logo on the car ?
Funny it just dawned on me, cause the RX-8 has it....

My regards to all.

That logo didn't come about until 1996. Someone correct me if I got the year wrong.

They did have the mazda logo.. it was the sign of "MAZDA" spelled out as a emblem. and yeah i think they went thru a few designs before settling on the current one.

Mazda has had a long line of different emblems. wikipedia, google... they're easy to find. I don't know why they've changed so much, but I like the current one.

As everyone said, Mazda went through a few logos.

1962–1975
(Pre RX7, and maybe FB? I dunno much about FBs)
1975–1991
(RX-7 FC's logo)
1991–1992
(Never saw this logo)
1992–1997
(RX7 FD, MX6, MX5, etc)
1997–present
(The one you know)

The rx-7's just used Mazda on the car until 93 when the 3rd Gen came out then they used that alien looking logo.

^^that is correct! Mazda has always had a neat way of slapping on logos. from the early SA's when Mazda installed this badge:

Size: 112.4 KB

and they were so smitten that they even labeled the air cleaner:

and as we all know, now we have purposful and direct logos. no mistaking the car:

I know they used the '91-'92 one only for a short period because it looked too much like the Renault one.
