Talking APEXi Electronics - Power FC

So I recently got a project car a 1986 FC with a 87 JDM 13bt swap for $700

All of the electrics are shot or gone. It runs, sorta, like i test drove it after coaxing it to start after 45 minutes. I think it sat for about 6 months.

The guy who had it before me 'tried to tuck the wires so it looks supa clean so i culd enta Hellaflush IV, but i wen *** up small kine so i took most of um out li dat'

The ECU and Harness and everything are there, and but it is a disaster. And seeing as i have to run new wires to all the lights and everything else (i was going to go to a rocker switch pannel for everything just because ) I am considering throwing in an after-market engine management system. It would be helpful if this helped delete things like the MAF and stuff, but not really necessary.

Doing just a little bit of research i came across the APEXi Electronics - Power FC: http://thmotorsports.com/apexi_integ...15A04Z-03-1990

Seriously i cant argue with that price for what they claim it does, any other suggestions, tips, or ideas?

The PowerFC was originally for the FD, though there was a setup (map, sensor, etc) for use on the S5 FC's. The S4 will require a bit more modification. Perhaps Banzai sells something for the S4, I'm pretty sure he has S5 adapters.

Looking around they were originally only for FDs but if i am understanding things correctly they have since made ones for FCs, that site that i linked says that that is FC compatible (specifically 1986 - 1992)

I am savvy enough to do some modifications, I was hoping there may have been some one who has used this product before that could lead me in the right direction. I don't mind ghetto rigging garage jobs (saab and volvo parts in my miata lol) but i also don't really like buying things blind.

Thanks for your help.

I will look into Banzai and post any findings.

Here is a link to the Power FC engine management forum here on this site. Maybe you will find what you need there. https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/

You are right about Banzai only having the Apexi Power FC for FDs, they don't carry any adapter kits that they advertise in their product section.

I wonder if the other site has that product listed incorrectly. I will try to get into contact with both at a reasonable hour and figure this out.

I am a bit suspicious now because after shopping around i cant find the system for any less than around $900 anywhere else, and everybody else only carries FD ones.

Its beginning to look too good to be true.

This is the pressure sensor kit only.

There is no product that fits the 86-92, it is an error on Apexi's site and vendors that don't know any better continue the problem. The S4 and S5 harnesses are not even close to being compatible with each other. The S5 PFC that AP Engineering was putting together was a modified FD unit. It is incorrectly listed on Apexi's site as 86-92 http://www.apexi-usa.com/products/?id=5354 . It is listed as $1380.00 and does not come with the commander or the pressure sensor kit that you have listed above. You also need the FD intake aire temp sensor.

If you are looking to put a PFC in an S4 (or S5) our adapter kits are the best way to go about it.

.
We most certainly do carry all of our adapter kits that we advertise. We are the manufacturer, we are the developer, we carry them.
