mazda keys

i have an 87 rx7 and i need to get my key cut and i wanted to get the new style mazda keys...anybody know if thats possible?

go to ebay and they have the blank mazda keys. they have some for FD's and they have some for fc's. i still have my orig key

The 92-01 newer factory keys can be made to fit, but it takes some work as the newer keys are slightly thicker and considerably longer.

Aftermarket keys should be fine however, since they are not as thick as the factory keys.

yes, but... again the key is slightly thick. This may be an issue if the present locks are not worn much.
