Mazda Cosmo
On the way home from school(yes im still in highschool) I spotted a beat-up Mazda Cosmo for sale. I was wondering since they have a 3 rotor engine how difficult an engine swap would be. Granted i know it won't be easy and i havent check on the engine condition or price, but just curious to know if this would be a good idea.

Edit:
Wait, you're still in school? Better stick this one in the list of future projects...

The RX-5 was the cosmo.
Of course my mazada 929 is also a cosmo (without the rotary in the US).
The 13BT cosmo engine has the twin turbo intake manifold, thus it's desirable as an upgrade.

What cosmo are you refering to? the newer 13b cosmos are twin turbo the use the 13brew. Normally the Cosmo intake manifold and surge tank is a different design than that of the RX7.
In speaking to Tuners and other enthusiasts i have learned that the ports on the cosmo engine are larger so that would be a desirable upgrade.

you probably saw one of those old azz 1969 cosmos.. just like the one they showed on last month's road and track when they introduced the mazda rx-8.. if you're referring to that.... thats old as hell and they aint 20b.. i think they're either 10a or 12a 4 port

The HC 929 (86-90) was also sold as the Luce (loo-chay) in Japan with a S4-spec 13BT and Auto!

From what I understand, the old 110 Cosmos are selling for big bucks nowadays. However, you were probably looking at an RX-5 Cosmo, which isn't worth much right now. Here are some various links with Cosmo info:

BTW, even if you get a 20B for free, it will still cost you about $10,000 to install it into an RX-7. Sorry.
