Manuel Sunroof
I've been thinking. I have 2 Rx-7s and the sunroom doesn't work on either of them. The motors just suck ***, and I dont want to replace it b/c it will suck *** too. Has anyone Converted the sunroof to a manuel sunroof? And if so, is there a kit to do it? I can see how I would do it now, wouldnt be very hard (the sunroof just looks so sexy back) If none's made a kit I think I'll do a practise conversion on my parts car, and if I get good enough maybe make a kit out of it. but hey i dont want to reinvent the wheel so if anyone has already done this let me know.
thx guys

haven't seen a kit, but i bet you could so something custom using a window type crank without having to try too hard, just that the crank would end up being behind you where the motor is mounted and you'd have to reach backwards to turn it.

There's the "manual sunroof crank" under the plug behind you (center of the car on the bulge in the ceiling). In the glovebox *should* be a sunroof crank, for the purposes of closing it if the motor dies while it's open (or such). I'd look for an old **** (like the old Caravans had before power rear vents), put the correct shaft on it, and just set that in place. It will probably take a lot of turns to open/close it, but it should work.
Any reason you haven't opened things up to try and fix the motors? It might just be a blown fuse or such.
