Maknig sure this is normal

I'm just going to go ahead and assume that this would be normal, but will ask to be sure.

I put a pretty much dead battery in the car to check to make sure everything comes on. Turned the key, radio, gauges, timer, everything comes on. Try to bump the starter and nothing happens so I figure it's dead. Turbo timer says 7.9v so yeah....

I turned the key back off then took the battery out, and when I did, the positive terminal was pretty warm/hot. Negative terminal was fine.

This would be normal right..... after putting load on a dead battery? I figure the negative terminal would be hot if I had any shorts.

sounds right to me seems that the battery was just pumping out every last volt in it thats the reason for the warm terminal was the battery on for a while??
