making s4 lip

well i desided that my front end need a lil something ,nothing like omg stuff just something basic so i got a 2nd gen lip from a teg and went to work . now i think some else has done this but i bored and want to post some pic's . no the lip is bout the same curve as the s4 bumper but its a lil shy of 2 inch to long so i cut 2 inchs out of the middle and jb welded it back togther with a bracket in the back so it wouldnt come undone. the next thing i did was once i got mounted i cut the lip on the sides where the bumper meets the fender so that if i needed to take the bumper off i didnt need to undo the whole lip. now thats where i stand cause i need to hit up the pick & pull for another lip so that i can get the side pieces made since the pieces i cut off are to short heres a few pic's

so what do you guys think of the ghetto fab lip . i like it cause its not to xtreme really

where's the rest of the lip?

you do know that 89-90 240sx lips fit the S4 bumpers, right?

like i stated above i still need to get another lip so that i can cut the sides to the length that i need them . and yes i do know bout the pignose 240 front lip. they only came on certain models so its kinda hard to find one at the junkyard . for the simple fact the 240 guys try to find them for their rides. and they go for around a bill each if not more depending on how good they still look. plus this lip didnt cost me anything and when i go to get another lip it will be like 5-10 bucks for it . it lowers the front bumper about 1.5 to 2 inches so i'm happy

The pignose front lip is soo rare, on top of which, it doesn't fit properly. Too short in the fender sides...and also just the wrong angles for a s4 lip.

What RB makes a weld?? haha. Just kidding...

TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER:

That is one of the cleanest lips i have seen so far (we'll see how the rest of it turns out), it really fits the lines of the car/bumper. BUT, how hard is it to find a DA5 ?? lip? Also, you should probably fiberglass the bridge between the 2 sides...

well i know that the jb weld is not that all of a great thing to use but its what i had at the time so i could do the mock up. i plan on going bout it a different way ones i get the other pieces that i need for the extensions i the sides. as of right know it's held up to the twisting that i cause when i was drilling the holes to mount it.as far as trying to find these lips its alot easier then trying to find a pignose lip in good shape. plus you have to do just about the same trimming that you do for this lip. i just posted soit give us s4 guys a nother choice.i'll update in a few

The underbody panel was most likely removed to make the lip. But yeah, not having one reduces your highway cooling capacity by some 20-30%. That license plate location..is simply stupid. Obviously cosmetic, but, a trimmed plate in the stock location is 100% better for flow. That is a HORRIBLE spot to put it..

well just to let you know when i got the car it didnt have the undertray, plus if it did have the undertray i wouldnt have to take it off to mount this lip . so i'm not missing it and as far as cooling goes i have not had a problem yet with it heating up with the lp there either . my gauge reads normal, between 198 to 203 and has yet to get above that even in the texas summer. so it may be stupid but i like it where it is. and thanks to the few that do like the lip

Get an undertray, your going to be losing power from the fan running when it doesnt need too.

How does not having an undertray cause the fan to run?

It doesn't run when the car is going over a certain mph (~30?).
