That seems odd to me that the turbo has the taller 5th. I would much prefer the Turbo trans in my N/A. 5th gear would be much more useful.

I,ve been wanting to do that I know were a t-2 is just sitting and I wanted to swich them but Wasn't sure if it would work glad to hear that it will

the Turbo trans has a SHORTER 5th, acording to those numbers anyway. (.762 is still kinda tall in my opinion, oh well...)

Taller ALWAYS means less mechanical advantage. (3rd gear is taller than 2nd, 4.11 gears are taller than 3.91, etc)

Synonyms for taller are shallower and higher.

Likewise synonyms for shorter gears are steeper and lower. (a 4.11 rear gear is steeper than a 3.91, for example)

I think the '86 had the .711 ratio in 5th.'87 up n/a had the .697(except the '89-90 GTUs that had a .756).

Yeah I checked both my FSM and the little booklet in my car and it's .711. I knew I wasn't smoking crack.
