that bumper looks pretty good! except I think the upper opening looks a little too big in that photochopped picture, but the shape is good. oh, and you should try and make it work with the factory S5 foglights I can just imagine a big ol' FMIC behind that
oh, and I also agree with blue TII's suggestion.

I'm not sure if you have worked w/ fiberglass before, but there are limitations based on the design (and your choice of materials)...
Fiberglass is not that strong. Assuming that you are using a wet-layup technique, how many layers of fiberglass are you planning to use? A single sheet of fiberglass is too weak strength wise and too many sheets will make it look funny. Also, you still have to mount the canards on the bumper. Assuming that you are making slight flaps on the canards as attachment points, this is already another weak spot because fiberglass is sooooo weak (and odds are, this is where they will break). Double sided tape doesn't work in this case. Professional race teams mount canards w/ rivets (in case you are wondering).
And yes, Evil Aviator is correct regarding businesses protecting themselves w/ insurance coverage.

Heres my impressions on the canards, its a totally JDM thing. If you autox don't bother with a canard, I 've seen them brake hittin a cone even the CF ones. Street driving not bad for "looks" but just like those honda symbals people will break your canard by kicking it or steal it.
If you guys want down force don't bother with a canard its purely for looks for the normal person, only die hard racers who need the extra downforce will shell $$$ for a canard that works. But if you do make the canards for the FC make the conecting point very sturdy.
Corksport acutally had fibreglass/CF canards in production phases but they dumped the plan. Most probable reason was that it was useless or to costly to make one that would work.
A lip or an aluminium underbody splitter is very effeciant in getting more downforce to the front end.

it would be so ez to make those 'dive planes'
but you should know how they work first, i opened a book on car aerodynamics and it said that alone, they make very little downforce, and they are either used as a really fine adjustment, or a part of a larger aerodynamics package, like to create a vortex down the side of the car to prevent any air from entering the bottom of the car from the sides. It would take a wind tunnel to figure out the correct shape of the dive plane... but if you like the looks, so be it... that part could be made out of CF for less then $20 (US) out of top materials cuz its so small. attaching it to the car would be more difficult.
it would be hard to make a working splitter for our cars too sice the front of the car has such a large overhang.

well all sounds good it was just an idea i didnt mean to create such an uproar about it...but it seems most of my threads expload on me which isnt a bad thing definitely and we have big plans but baby steps thats why we ar ekepng it to ourselves cuz we know way too many people have come up with an idea and faded off.....but seriously lok at my first thread about the hood.....peeps said show pics and stop bullshitting us......well look now and u have followed me thru the whole process.....and yes experience has to start somewhere...its about learning curve...and i obviously have the motivation to keep pushing thru and being broke yet still maintianing the goal of pshing thru some quality at a good price....and as far as the bumper goes...i think the opening is a lil whack but it was only a rough idea and some photoshop.....when ive got one made in a month or so Godwilling peeps can judge then.......so im not going to fill you guys up with fluff......so dont worry about the blueball.....youll get ur peice right then and there from now on.....peace

i think the canards do something. Its a good idea astrochild, and id be willing to buy some canards if you ever made any. its true, getting them from japan is expensive. Now let me ask evreyone that thinks that canards stupid or ricey, why does the RE Amemiya FC, that ran a 58 at tsukuba circuit, have canards on it? do you think mr amemiya put them on to make the car look better? I dont think so wathc for yourself, Video Option Vol 92, 93, 105.
