make your own gauges

since some white face gauges you can buy are just pieces of papar... maybe we could make our own here... if someone had there gauges out and could scan them that would be awesome.. then we could photoshop some great gauges... any help would be great i want to make my own

a few people are already doing this and it ain't as easy as it seems. Lighting is the major issue, and scanning and photoshopping is not very accurate. Scan a dollar bill, open it in photoshop, and print it out. I bet the printed out version is off by about an 1/8 of an inch. Just enough to mess up the whole F'in thing.

done it.....easy! its easy to make whitefaced guages the dash on my s4 is front lit aswell as backlit i used a emi transperent gloss white self adhesive and covered the old gauges with some black tape so you couldnt see al the old numbers. but left holes for the highbeam and such when my digital camera decides to work again ill post sum pics. I also converted my factory boost guage to P.S.I instead of the weird mm of mercury measurement, its alot easier

no ****, I don't have the ability to make my own, but I don't particularly like the ones you can buy. Coark sports has their stupid logo on them and there's a cheaper brand that doesn't have the quality as CS's but they also have crap all over em

I DON' T KNOW WHAT ALL YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THIS, BUT HERE IS MY IDEA TO BE ORIGINAL.

I am going to take out the whole gauge cluster and replace it with after martket stuff. It will be hard but i am going to try. Then after that i will hopefully put in a frosted lexan or plexiglass plate around the guages and backlight it. I want to get those guages that change color with RPM. So i think that would be entirely original and ****'in pimp looking.

Just wondering what you guys thought.
