major exhaust leak at the pipe past the manifold

hey its me again, so i found out today by an avid rx7 enthusiast that my 6 ports arent working. i knew she felt flat at wideopen throttle but i just wasnt sure there was a problem. turns out 6 ports need backpressure to work properly so i was wondering were can i get this exhaust donut gasket? does anyone know of a brand or part number?

It's not a donut, it's a 2 bolt gasket. The issue I ran into was that the nuts, for whatever reason, would just back off, no matter how tight they were, or if you used lock washers. The stock nuts wore out I guess, so I ended up using 2 nuts on each side. I eventually wised up and got locking nuts, but I forgot where I ordered them.

Mazdatrix sells the gasket you need. Local discount parts stores won't have the right one in stock most likely, and they're usually poor quality anyways.

If the nuts back off, it usually blows the gasket right out. Also, once you bust that flange loose, check to make sure they're still flat. I've had flanges warp on me before, and then they'll never seal.

Don't buy those turbo locking nuts. The thread pitch for the NA manifold is 12x1.25, not 10x1.5. I can't remember where I got them from, but the locking nuts that were posted here are very similar to the type that I got. They work great. I've heard good things about NordLock washers, but they don't come cheap. Lockwiring is a great solution too, but you have to be VERY precise with your drilling. The hole has to go through the bulk of the nut, but can not pass through the threaded area.

Jeez, I can't even begin to count the 1/16" drill bits I've broken while drilling hardware for wire...probably thousands.

Seems to me that actually wiring the exhaust nuts with the engine in place would be somewhat of a pain.
