majestic, worth it?

would having majestic do an upgrade on my turbo to a
TO4E-46 be worth it?? Im not looking for insane power. I just want to have a little more efficiency than the stock turbo's limitations...

I was hoping with that to have around 250-275 rwhp@12psi with that turbo w/frount mount and of course all the other little goodies...is that possible?

its an 89Turbo

I had majectic do my stock turbo and then i put on the new greddy frontmount. I ran a 12.6 @116.... No traction at all. With this turbo and intercooler and the right amount of fuel you should be able to pull some good 1320's.. i'm looking for 11's this April.

I'm getting the bnrsupercars (http://www.lourdsmusic.com/bnrsupercars/index.htm) Stage2 w/T04B housing setup for my '89T2. The turbo was sent off last Saturday. I was told it should be good for well over 320rwhp worth of flow. All the while keeping good response. I'm more or less looking for a good street/autoX car, not 1/4 car. But I don't like losing all the same.
goodspeed: hope to catch you this Saturday. Later.

320rwhp seems rather high. I would be very suprised if it did anywhere near this. The T04b is a slight increase over stock but not huge by any stretch of the imagination. Your still using the stock exhuast side, and that is a major restriction. I am putting on a T04b hybrid on an 87 T2 and if it makes 250rwhp I'll be happy.

I've had the Majestic upgrade for about a month - I sent in my old unit because I was seeing blue smoke between shifts and couldn't boost beyond 7 psi even w/ dp, mp, intake and cb.

They milled the turbine housing to accept a machined stage III wheel. They also milled the compressor housing to accept a TO4E-46 wheel , ported the wastegate and installed an oversize rings bearing housing for $610.00.

The guy that did the assembly told me this unit is conservatively good for 320+rwhp. I would imagine that the way the car sits now I'm probably about 240-250bhp and I haven't seen boost higher than 10.5psi.

There's a shop near me that mods rotaries and one of the guys there suggests this type turbo upgrade, an HKS FCD, plumb a 720cc injector at the back of the intercooler (controlled by a Haltech F5 AIC that kicks in at 9psi) and use a Profec B set for 9psi low / 14psi high. He's been running this for quite a while and says it's reliable. BTW, I toured this shop with a buddy and we were both impressed - they seem to know what they're doing - there were 3 FD's in there, a 10sec FC, rotors, housings and engines in various stages of assembly. They will definetly be working on my car in the next month or two.

This upgrade creates a bit more lag (about 3-400rpm?) but once it gets spooled it pulls very well. This is partially (I'm told) because I don't have a boost controller yet to keep my wastegate shut entirely until desired boost is reached. So I imagine once I get the rest of the goodies installed I'll really see the benefits of the upgrade.

I'm very happy with the service at Majestic and the finished product is very nice - looks new. I would recommend them. Zero complaints...

The turbo probably will flow enough for 320rwhp, but that doesn't mean I'll see it. My engine is not ported and I'll be running a stock intercooler for the time being.

I have sent my turbo to majestic turbo and did the same upgrade as Fedrex. Exept they clipped my exhaust turbine. I will have the car on the road next week. I have to break a new engine in...arh...time to put 1500 miles on the car. Good thing premium gas prices jumped.

The major difference between Fedrex setup and mine is that I have a streetportting. We will see how it goes.

My turbo came back from majestic looking great! Very happy. Can't wait to boost
