My comment is based on my experience. I bought a blue anodized one for my MS3 from ebay and it turned out to be a turd. The threads could be bent like tin foil and eventually started to cut/coil (however to describe it) off the part. I thought it out after oil changes because I thought it actually might contaminate the oil.

As if they are in a hurry to get me done and gone??? Maybe the lube shop where you work is different, but the ones in my area welcome the extra time.
Then they would have time recommend you flush your power steering fluid, power flush your transmission fluid, change your brand new air filters, cabin filter, replace the 78% nitrogen air in your tires with...100% nitrogen, flush your fuel system, replace your shocks, get an alignment, balance your wheels, change your wipers, spray the vent system with smell-good-pook etc.
Oh, wait, they already do that and thus keep me there an extended time to attempt to guilt me into un-wanted services.
Last time I to my 6 to Kwik-Kar, they actually showed me the transmission fluid and told me that the red color was an indication that the transmission needed to be flushed.
I will never forget the time that one of those guys pulled my air filter to show me how dirty it was. I declined the $45 fram air filter, but handed him my $15 Wix to put back in, since he already had the filter box open. He thought it was the single best joke he heard all day. At least I think so, since he held up a single finger.

I'll have to have my wife try that next time she takes her 3 in for service.
