i was thinking of doing the same thing in the near future, when my ldiff is craped out. i am preety sure you can. They should be interchangable between both series taking into account you have a turbo 2 rear end to begin with.

i THINK, but am pretty sure that all turbo drivetrain are interchangable. same goes with n/a. you cant swap between n/a and turbo though.

Flanges are different on the driveshaft..you will need a special driveshaft to run a TII trans to a N/A diff..you may be just as well off changing the whole rear end out...Edit..http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.asp?partnum=2691-799 Driveshaft from mazdatrix.

Yes, you can run the S4 TII diff in the S5, it drops right in without any modifications. It is a much stronger unit as well. I have several customers running the S4 TII internals in their FD's after the torsen self destructed.

No need to swap it, the S4 TII entire diff will just bolt into an S5 TII
