Lowering Questions

I just order the shocks to finally lower my car, cept I have a few concerns before I Install everything. First off, I was wondering what parts/tools I would need. It seems to be a relatively simple install and I was hoping to only need a good set of ratchets/sockets, spring compressor, torque wrench, anything else? Should I replace any parts of the suspension while im in there? I am also concerned about the lowering distance. As of right now i have the eibach pro kit in my garage however most people ive talked with say that this kit doesn't lower you car much, therefore i was planning on possibly getting the intrax kit. Which do you guys/gals prefer and post pics if you have them. BTW, who sells the intrax kit. Thanx

I have intrax springs, and I've no complaints, but I've been told they're not the best. Racing beat makes good quality stuff for not much dough, anything after that, and you'll probably be paying more money than you like for springs.

I'd be shocked if your AAS is still working.

spring compressors and alignment

Unless your familiar with using the spring compression tools for changing out the struts I would NOT recomend doing them yourself. Renting the tools at autozone or pepboys may seem like a deal but who knows what the moron before you really used them for. I have seen and been victem to these tools failing. I had 4 broken ribs when one failed on me and the spring came loose.

However if you insist on doing it yourself get a spring compressor that fits down through the center of the spring not one that is a pair od compressors that fir on the outside of the spring.

Also you need to search around and find an alignment shop that specializes in lowered vehicles. Often times a standard alignemt machine will be close but you will wear out one side of the tire before the other. However the wear will only be really noticable as the tread wear gets close to running out.

vosko... your car looks like its not even dropped... looks kinda like factory but i guess thats what 0.8 of an inch looks like.... maybe the 17 inch rim will cover that lil gap between the fender and tire...

Hey vosko, no pics of my car?

I've got the K2RD coilover kit, and the thing is DROPPED. Handling is awesome, but you don't want to drive on cobblestones with it... bumpity. bumpity. bumpity. bumpity. bumpity. bumpity. bumpity

I have the Eibachs with KYB AGX shocks and stock 15 inch. It looks low enough for me, not as low as my friend's ST car. But ST can run into camber problems where the Eibachs probably wont. I have a picture, let me know if u want to see it. I will give u the link
