low voltage!!!!!!!!!

Ok well my question about hard starting brought this up, On my turbo timer i read low volts at 11.9 and high at 13.1 These numbers are not very good, I went to the parts store and bought a new alternator. and nothing changed, i then grounded the **** out of the engine. still nothing. Any Ideas???

try running another wire from bat + to alternater +

yes the belt is tight, and yes the batt is fully charged, its a sealed optima

I'm dealing with the same issue, Chris. I've tried just about everything, short of replaceing the alternator with an FD alternator. However, i have replaced it with an OEM rebuilt. Still got low voltage tho

try checking the voltage at the battery with a DMM

Your TT is measuring the voltage between the ignition swtich and your ground point. This isn't necessarily battery voltage! Like Fingers said, get a DMM and measure the voltage across the battery terminals. Should be 12V with the engine off and 14.5V with it running.
