Low vacuum and lack of power
Low vacuum and lack of power
Good afternoon. I have an N/A 86 rx7 completely stock. It starts and drives but I have a problem with low idle when warm and it’s has a lack of power. Compression test of 85psi all the way around. Have good fuel pressure 35psi at idle. I have new spark plugs and wires. I have ensured spark out of each coil. I set the tps using the resistance method. I set the spark timing as per manual. When I try to set the idle with the plug jumped my idle drops to 400rpm and movement of the bleed screw will only increase it to 500rpm. When I remove the jumper cable I idle barely at 600 rpm. I have confirmed my vacuum is low at about 11inhg. I hear no air leaks and sprayed the intake system with no increase in idle. I’m new to the rotary game so I was looking for any ideas. Is there a way to test the AFM? Even if I were to have a vacuum leak causing the low vacuum reading I shouldn’t have a complete lack of power. My idle is steady and not bouncing. When I unplug the vacuum from the map sensor there is no change either. Thanks for your help in advance

Download the 1988 FSM since your car is an S4(86-88). On the FSM you'll want 04a Fuel and emission control systems na, the page being 4a-54, shows the measurements you should see with a multimeter.
