To be loud or not to be loud. That is the question.
The best thing with the N1 is the silencer - it's loud and fun around town, but you can pop in the silencer for a long trip and it takes ALL the bite out of the sound, as well as the 3000 RPM drone.
The Corksport exhaust's silencer is pretty flimsy, but it does seem to work.

thanks,

i used to have a S5 NA with 2.5 straight exhaust w/ RB header/presilencer. It was just TOO loud after awhile, and it had such a raw wheedwhacker sound that I decided it was too much. Personally for the NA i would say in between. I think if i would have put a more restrictive muffler on my car it would have sounded better.
As for the T2, open the ehxuast up since the turbo quiets the noise. 3" would be good

My car is pretty loud, and being that I only drive it every once in a while, and just to get sideways or have some fum with, its ok. If I had to drive it alot though, no way I would put up with that noise all the time.
If youve got a N/A your going to be loud
If youve got a TII your going to be quite
My N/A had a N1 exaust with a straight pipe it was the most beautiful sounding exaust i had ever heard
My current TII has same setup except its a turbo and its much quiter and not as nice a sound, so it goes mostly by what kind of car you got

Im using a Bonez race pipe mated to the Corksport cat back. Its pretty loud but sounds great at higher RPM. Ive heard KoukiFC's setup and it sounds great and isnt NEARLY as loud as mine lol.
Where I live there are so many strait piped hick trucks strolling through town so the sound of my exhaust never raised any suspicion.. although when I was trying to talk to chicks while we were driving it was almost impossable.

I'm 50/50 on this one. If you've got a car that has the ***** to back up the bite, make it loud. If you've got a daily driver that doesn't get smacked on a lot, make it quiet.
I slapped the N1 on the vert for a few weeks and enjoyed every minute of it, but on long trips it will KILL you without the silencer.

I'm trying to keep as much performance as I can, while keeping it quiet for what I have. With a streetport, headers are a LOT of gain, so I really want them. Presilencer to keep it quiet (I have no emissions, so no need for Split-air pipe, hence the TII version) the corksport is a nice, thru muffler, w/ an optional silencer, that I'll be taking advantage of.

My car is not as loud as a Harley Davidson motorcycle but sounds similar.
Hope this helps.
Loud gets old really fast. My car club rolls with the two way radios and I can't hear mine without the ear bud at 35mph. Cell phones above idle also are pointless unless you like repeating yourself and asking for clarification on every other word. I called my dad while doing the breakin run on my engine to let him know it was running and he thought I was calling from a plane. (use to be in flight school)
I'm considering revamping my exhaust and going 3" single with a open muffler for the track and using a silencer for the daily grind. Shouldn't prove too open, and if I megaphone it out to the 3" from the header flange I might actually gain some more power out of the deal.
My loud is so loud cops can follow me long after I'm out of sight. Not exactly cool when everyone in town knows exactly where you are at all times.
