Lots Of Little Things Bugging Me...
This thread is going to be devoted to fixing all the little annoying problems this 15yr old car has. Its an S5 TII for starters, and the following things have been happening:
1) Electric Door Locks: Different functions of the security system decide to go on and off when they please. I'm guessing how its SUPPOSED to work is that unlocking it from the outside makes both locks come up, then when getting out, pushing the button on my side down makes the beep and pushes the other lock down as well, then hold up the door when closing it. Now in my car, when I turn the key outside the door, 3/4 of the time only my side unlocks, and the other 1/4 of the time, the pass. side door unlocks as well. When i'm leaving the car as well, pushing down my side does not get the other side to go down as well, but i'd say once out of every hundred times it decides to lock as well. So where i'm at is every time I enter the car with a passenger, I have to reach across and let them in. Then when leaving they have to lock their own door, and all of the functions seem to work, but they only seem to want to work seperately and not be a fully functional system.
2) Power Window Switch/Motor: The left side motor seems to be a lot stronger than the passenger side, as it always closes first and the pass. side seems to struggle a lot. The switches always worked, but the windows never really went too fast, up until recently. The drivers side window now goes down all the time, but sometimes it doesn't want to come back up. It takes a few tries on the button to get it to finally go, but this just started to happen. I'm afraid one time its going to go down then not come back up, so i've stopped using the switch until I can find the problem.
3) Windshield Wiper Switch: Just VERY recently this problem also started. Basically, the wipers work fine, but once they get going, they decide to stop at random points, and all it takes to get them going again is to switch to a different speed setting. Also sometimes the reason for the freeze is switching the speed setting from a high to a low one.
4) 7.5A "Room" Fuse: Not really a problem, but I was just wondering what electronics go under this fuse.
Are any of these things common problems, and do any of you know some solutions? I'm guessing 2/3 are some bad switches or the wiring needs to be redone, but those seem easier than the whole electrical system on the locks. Anyone have suggestions?

I've got the same problem with the power windows, the left hand one is very slow to go up. I've got the car of the road this week to try and fix little problems like this, i'm going to attempt to fix the window problem tomorrow. If i manage it i'll let you know. I'm not sure what the 7.5A room fuse does but why not try pulling it and seeing what stops working ?

Mr. Sparkle is correct. If yout window switch is giving you trouble actually working, then I would say take it apart and clean the connections. I did it on my but that wasn't the problem, so if it doesn't fix it then try and find a used one. As far as everything else I don't have power door locks, or any of that crap but check the connections.

Probably bad or dirty key switch in the drivers door
