lots of electrical crap

ok , I just got a shitty 1990 S5 Na- converted ( just the engine) for free. but it is having some issues almost all eletrical.

There are vaccum hoses capped, split, broken, open nipples, and whatever the hell else.

Oddly, it feels like it runs well, my Egt's stay around 900ish- peaking at 1000, you can feel it going into boost, however my boost gauge isnt working ( autometer) i just replaced all of the vaccum/tees lines, etc... and it has good vaccum, but when driving as the turbo spools- it only hits 0. no more, The motor has 1300 miles, bridge port stage2-street, full roll cage, and a lot of nifty things that justifies the hassle, plus I have some parts lying around to finish the conversion.

Even more headaches arise, when the stereo plays like absolute crap! I have no idea what is what, and my autoparts store says the wires are wrong, I followed the manual, and it still is crap. I am getting new ones- it was a JVC/pioneer speakers.

I have absolutely no interior gauge lights, etc... the dome lights work, but the gauges/ controls dont, all fuses have been changed. My clock doesnt work, and when I pulled off my cluster, I noticed that all of the bulbs attached to the back of the circuits had NO wires connected to them. The headlight works, but I cant even begin to think of how it got like that.

So if anyone has any ideas, also- I have a Tial BOV , I bought from a DSM guy, I had it installed and all- however, its not sounding- The guy said it has an 11lb spring it, I am running stock settings- could this be why its not sounding? It worked nicely on his, but he was running 24psi. Thanks you guys.

any diagrams, or advice thanks- I really dont want to get rid of it.

I'd recommend re-wireing the audio yourself. In my car noone of the wires in the dash power the doors speakers :| but before taking out the old one they're the best souding speakers in the car.

I am not so worried on the audio as that is fairly stragiht forward, I am concerned with having to drive at night with abosulutely no interior lights/gauges. also- is there a common power source I can use to power gauges ( full time) for EGT/electrical fuel pressure, etc... thnks.

No wires are supposed to come off the gauge lights... They draw power from the circuit board they twist into itself. Twist the bulbs out to see if maybe they are just blown out? Rare that they would all be blown out.. but not out of the question. I've had newer vehicles that the bulbs one at a time died.. and eventually I had none.

Every bulb was replaced, and every fuse was replaced. The previuos owner had rigged some really shitty wiring. I plan on redoing all sorts of crap- first- where is there a common 12v power source, I need to power my EGT/boost/ turbo timer. however- my gauge, cetner console, etc... wont work- but today, I was driving home from work- apparently, my brakes/ blinkers dont work either. But I discovered that my fuses blew- they blew 3 times. what the hell is wrong.... and links to electrical modification info- power sources, good grounds, stereo wire colors, etc...

ok, I decided to build and run my own auxillary fuse box and works excellent- I also found the some of the wires that run to the factory headlight switch had been completely set on fire, and was bar through out its entire lenght- I redid my headlights, and my gauges and such- but now my stereo doesnt work- could I get a list of what wires are what on the factory stereo harness. Also- I found that the relief solinoid valve nipple is broken off- is this creating a boost leak. also- the little nipple right behind the BAC valve is what wass used for its standard use + the blow off valve + the boost gauge+ it travels across the entire engine bay- is this overuse of a single nipple why my gauge is only show vaccum- up to 0psi. and why my Blow off valve ( Tial -11lb.spring) blowing off?

Are there any other direct manifold access nipples that can either be safely tapped, or replaced for the BOV/ or gauge?
