Angry Lost to a 3000 GT/sl

Now my car is not the fastest thing on the road but should be able to beat this car because I just put in a Full Exhaust "Racing Beat", Pulleys, Intake, cold air box, ram air light lid. My car should be sitting at least 250hp with that all done to it. Now I Know that the 6 port acurator is stuck close. How much horse do you guys think thats taking. I didn't lose to him that bad but he was walking away from my car. I have A 1990 Convertible.

I wouldn't think you have more than 170-80 at the wheels, your car has 160 bhp stock...an exhaust without headers doesn't do as much on an N/A rotary as a turbo one, 10-15hp maybe. I'm not sure about the power gains from pulleys, but I can't imagine them being much. You're also driving the heaviest Rx-7. 3kgt SL's had 220hp, and the vr-4 had "285"hp...usually 320 if i remember correctly. Non-functioning 6th ports could cause quite a bit of power loss, get that fixed and i'm sure you'll notice a difference in the upper RPM range.

Get the 6th ports actuators fixed and go with the pineaple sleeves while you're at it. My friend LOVES his 9 lb aluminum flywheel.. You have 165 at the wheels MAX.

Full exhaust = 25-30hp
Pulleys = 2-3hp
Intake = 1hp
Cold air = 1/2 hp or less
Ram air lid = 1/2 hp or less

You're seeing 185-190bhp... or about 155-165 at the wheels. This is WITH the 6-ports and VDI working. Expect to see high Low 15 sec 1/4 mile times with tip top driving. Port your intake manifold and you'll definately be in the VERY high 14's once you get your **** running right and lighten the car a little bit.
