I know of the ones that corksport sells, but I can't reassure that they are steel.

Have fun!

But take into mind that you're going to be adding the weight of the automatic counterweight you'll need to make it work.

The RB steel flywheel is 17lbs. and is a nice choice. I loved the one I had on my N/A, really made the engine SEEM more lively. 80% reduction in rotational inertia with only a ~10lb. reduction of overall mass is impressive and shows how much goes into the engineering of their products. /dickride

Racing Beat is the only steel lightened one that I know of in that weight range.

The ACT one is quite a bit lighter (12?), but it's a LOT cheaper!
Go figure...

On the RX-7 Store, they have it priced at $255(!!!).
I think the RB one is like $400???
Neither one comes with a CW, so you'll need one of those too...

under high HP the aluminium one would explose ..... and I want smooth shifts, nothing too light to keep the car streetable .....

Actually the superlight (ACT, little RB flywheel) tend to be really streetable, it takes a few hours to get used to them, but thats also. (My friends Civic for example, he had a Prolite) I hope that's a good comparison.

The ACT at RX-7 store is now $225 + $119 for the counter weight.
flywheel

I'm using it with a 6-puck copper/ceramic clutch with an XTD PP.
clutch kit

It gives a high clamp with light pedal pressure ratio.
