Looking for advice on clutch.

Ok my clutch is really getting bad so I'm going to replace it.

What I got
S5 Turbo Vert. RB full exhaust running about 10psi. Everything else stock.

What i'm going to do.
Rtek 2.? running 4x720 BNR stage 2 running 8psi.

This is my daily driver (in summer) so it needs to be able to handle all the usuall stop and start crap. I'm hoping to do it myself, but will probably not be able to do to working space.

The racing beat stage one is the only one i've really looked at so..............

help

Clutchmaster, ACT, Spec..

It all comes down to preference in the end. Stick with sprung full face clutch.

no other further mods? the rb clutches are good (at least the 6 puck, thats what i run). ACT is also GREAT. those are the only two i have used beside OEM. on all the cars ive owned ive run ACT clutches and never had a problem. this is the first "performance" clutch i have used thats not a ACT.

+1 for the full face sprung for your mods. the six puck i have now is not bad, but i can definately tell the difference in engagement.

P.S.- never used one but i heard spec sucks...

honestly i'm not a fan of ACT or spec. act uses pressure plates that are too heavy. not that they are too heavy to drive every day(some might say so), it's just unnecessarily heavy and some have blown clutch hydraulics. Spec has just had too many bad stories. i know they are just stories, since i have never had personal experience with them aside from selling them. reputation is a big part of my purchasing decisions.
i would recommend Exedy, they are an oem manufacturer and they supply most companies like ACT and Spec with their parts. look at the logos on their parts. i personally have a South Bend clutch and it's not bad. nothing bad to say about driving experiences. they also use some exedy components.
shop carefully.

ill tell you one thing; clutches are not an area you wanna skimp on. shop very discriminantly as pistones said, even if the clutch is "good", but you get itinstalled and for one reason or another dont like it, its alot of work to redo.

Well I noticed that the "kit" RB sells is an exedy. I've seen ACT on alot of cars here an the forum. So wich ACT will feel most like stock but handle the higher horses? I won't go with spec. Since i have never heard of them till now.

The racing beat HD clutch I've used before with good results on a ported TII. Currently have a GXL with I believe an exedy clutch if I remember correctly and its holding well. I've also installed an exedy on my sister in laws Jetta and so far its holding up good as well.

In your case I'd say the racing beat heavy Duty clutch should be more than enough. Just remember with any clutch, break in is key to having good clutch life.

NO ACT will "feel" anywhere close to stock.

i beg to differ. i used to have the ACT ss full face clutch with the hd pp when my car was NA. now i will say that you COULD TELL it was not stock. pedal was a little stiffer, engangement was a different feel. but it wasnt too much of a departure from stck. i actually liked it better. it felt crisper, cleaner and quicker during engagement vs the OE replacement i had before that.

either way. pistones is right, it wont feel like stock, but its not gonna be something that you wont get used too very quickly. just buy a quality clutch (ACT, RB, Exedy, south bend, clutchmasters (no experience with the last two)) that will meet you power needs (i.e. if you want 250 rwtq theres no reason to buy an unsprung 4 puck) but not exceep them too much, break it in properly for gods sake, and call it a day. like i said before, clutch work is not exactly something you wanna repeat regularly.
