Looking for 3.5" Stainles Steel catback for FC
Yes, you guys will LOVE the quality of the JIC Spec 90 if you decide to give it a try. I don't have mine running yet, but this exhaust looks awsome.
Over 3 1/2" turbo back! Yeah baby.

but do they have a catback that is 3.5"? I don't need the turbo back because I'll have to have the turbo downpipe fabricated due to the fact that I accidentally installed a 20B and the downpipe that comes with that system wouldbe useless

"OOPS!" haha... do you think if I'm lucky mazda would "accidentally" do that for me too?
lol... I wish... actually, not really sure I want mazda touching my car...
Obviously, that was a joke
I think there is no way in hell that Mazda would accidentally install a 20B for you... but we could do it
And no, this conversion was no accident... a lot blood (mostly zach's since he tends to cut himself every day) sweat and frustration has gone into this project... I'm at about my whit's end... that's why I'm looking for an exhaust.

this 3.5" catback sounds promising.... I know I'm going to have to make the midpipe and downpipe... but the parts alone in 3.5" SS304 is close to what price I was quated... and this thing will just bolt in.
I'm still going to have to have the downpipe made over... right now, its just aluminized steel... but when I go with the single turbo, I'm going to have the machine shop in town make it out of SS bends and stuff.... if I can find any 3.5" ss U-Bends that is....

I'm sorry guys to mislead you but the SPEC90 catback is $840.00. THe 90 downpipe is $340.00. Add those together to get the turbo back pricing.
The Cat back is only an after cat system. So no worries, you don't have to buy the downpipe.
Thanks, Rishie

I just checked out JIC's webpage...
http://www.jic-magic.com/exhaust/spec90.asp
It says that the spec90 is a progressive 90mm piping design... I take that to mean that it increases to 90mm (roughly 3.5") What does it start out at at the cat?

"Help your car build real horsepower. Full stainless steel muffler with aggressive 90mm diameter piping. Design incorporates a competition muffler to increase power and performance."
I see aggressive not progressive

Well when I was speaking to one of the representatives at corksport he told me it was 3 1/4 inch piping. From what I saw before I installed the exhaust, thats throughout the entire exhaust, no flaring out (besides the muffler).
I put pics up of my JIC Spec 90 catback way back when I got it from Rishie. I insisted on special ordering the Spec 90 downpipe (though Rishie seems happy now that I did
), so it just recently got to Rishie! Do a search w/ my username to see the thread.
The deal w/ the catback is this. It has 3 sections. The 1st is a very short (~4") 2.5" flared to 90mm section that incorporates the hanger and mates to the stock exhaust. The 2nd section is roughly half the total length of the catback and the 3rd incorporates the muffler.
The Spec 90 "down pipe" is long enough to join w/ the 2nd and 3rd part of the catback ONLY to create a full turbo back 90mm.
I hope that clears up some questions. Check out the thread, the quality is just awesome!
If you are going to make a custom downpipe and/ or catback- check your local junkyard. I was just at ours and found a Ton (probably more actually) of Stainless pipe- presumably from when our local pulpmill converted to a non-chlorinated process. This stuff was in 3" to 12" diameters and the "bends" were all made in 2 piece welded "clamshell" style so there was asolutely no change in volume. They even had "v" band flanges at each end. I flipped out when I saw this stuff, awsome- and only $1 a pound. It was fairly thick though- like a RB downpipe- not light like JIC stuff...
