Look what I found
So today I finally decided to install my mbc, I took my air intake and cone filter off to make it easier to get to the wastegate. After the install I checked my turbo for shaft play with out looking, and cut my finger. I check shaft play and the wheel for damage every few months. Upon further inspection I saw that every other blade was totaled

This has just happened since January. my intake is still in one piece so I have no clue what could have caused this damage, Ill take this as a sign to go big I guess.

^ a long time ago in a galaxy far far away i worked at an autozone and literally the ONLY people that bought spectre tubes(filters are ok) were 16 year old kids with their civics or cavaliers. and yes they are cheap plastic... ive used the filters on a few cars, but i would not use the "intakes" they offer.

I'm only running on wastegate spring instead of stock 7 psi, I emailed them explain some of the risks and cost I was very calm with them. I did plan on replacing it with a proper sealed intake but like I said it wasn't high on my todo list. And now I'm stuck with a paper weight of a turbo.

Hi Tyler,
Currently, we do not make a vehicle specific cold air or short ram intake kit for a Mazda RX-7. As far as our 3” Chrome ABS tubes and elbows, it clearly states on our website; DO NOT USE on turbo-charged or supercharged engines. Industry wide, it is recommended to only use aluminum tubes and silicone couplers due to the extreme heat and high pressure associated with these types of engines. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the products are correct for the application. Unfortunately, these products were not suited for your application. We apologize you have had this concern.
So any one got a sealed cai for sale? Haa

I'm glad I removed their product from my car. I planned to use it temporarily, and ended up using it long term. Luckily I don't have it in my car anymore.
I'm sorry to see that it had such a horrible effect on your car.

I use their filter but not piping... I hate to say it but you'll probably have to beat the guy that put it on there with a water noodle. Their response was totally correct no matter how cold it was. I hate expensive lessons as much as the next guy but silicon and aluminum are the only way to go for forced induction apps (and all others IMHO). Hopefully you can find some tool that totaled his FC being too fast and furious and buy his parts > that's what I do lol
