Heh. An hour drive is a long drive to you? Funny...

I drove my TII from Naples to Tallahassee when I first bought it, and it's since taken me to Gainesville and back. Your car will love you for it - gives it a chance to clean some of the carbon out of the motor. Bring some good CDs, a fine woman, and drop the windows and the sunroof! You'll be pIMpiN'!

Long drives... I thought he meant a couple of days.

An hour is just a trip down to the airport or into the "city" for me.

trip pointers:
Check your tire pressure
check your oil and fluids
make sure you have a spare water bottle for you in case you get thristy on your hour drive.

If both are NA and not heavily modded out, I'd say your brother will take the taco. The FBs much lighter than our FCs. Give 'im hell, anyway.

I've just done this driving from Las Vegas from Sac, which is about a 6-7 hour drive...

I'd recommend keeping a set of belt, radiator hoses (upper and lower), two gallons of coolant, a couple bottles of oil, and a gas container...

I normally keep a bunch of rags and a good assortment of tools to take care of 90% of the service I need to do on the car.

Well, it depends if he has a GSL-SE. If he does, with equal mods - he might be able to keep up with you. If he has the 12A - Then you will take him...with your mods..no doubt.

glad it has cruise control for long trips. I've driven ~8hrs straight before with no problems. Of course I keep my cars tuned and the rubber gaskets & pipes fresh

Last Sept, a week after the planes struck in NY, I took my FC from WA to Colorado and back. Had no problems at all. I also drive about 90 a day to and from work.

Just keep up on basic mantenance and tuning and you should be fine.
