6nf Capacitor. It's a small disc one you can get at pretty much any electronic component store.

take this to radio shack and match it up. its a 6nf. On the slim chance they do not have it, look it up on "MCMelectronics"

Sorry I did and they did not know what is was. I am taking the site now and looking on there, but having a little trouble. I have heard some people say it was a variable compositor or something.

+1, if no Radio Shack, go to Fryes electronics, if no Fryes, go to hobby shoppe, if none, look up 6nf capacitor.

A Variable one will be large, clunky, and have a switch to set the variable; this is not a variable capacitor.

I don't know what I'm looking at as far what you posted goes, but it's more common than nano vs micro. Just ask for a disc capacitor of 6nf

The people that work in the store are typically high school kids who do not know there hand from there *** crack. You will have to check the capacitor bins manually by yourself. I would be shocked if they were out of stock on this. But zimmerman is in the sticks a bit...

Could I hook up a potentiometer to the mode motor by chance. To adjust settings. Is there a repair process or a detailed wireing diagram for the repair.

I applaud your effort to fix anything electrical, don't get me wrong.
But I also note that Logicons can be had real cheap(the FS sections here are a gold mine of stuff!) and If I encountered what you are going through I would just make that thing "landfill" and not even waste a breath on it!
I guess I am at that age where 'breathing"(and enjoying my older years) is more valuable than taking the time to go down to Radio Shack and talk with a Pimple faced 16 year old that doesn't know what a capacitor is!

Not to mention the legs are still soldered into the board and he'll need to get those out without ripping the solder pads off.

I know right? Or how to actually use the soldering needle correctly without melting other components or use it to "transfer". Granted, you do have to start somewhere in life.

Do you thing a potentiometer could work? I am in the process of resoldering. Do you know of any where that still repairs these?

No, as already pointed out, you need a CERAMIC 6 NANOFARAD CAPACITOR.

If I am wrong I will be corrected,.
A Potentiometer is a Variable RESISTOR.
a Resistor is NOT a Capacitor.

As said, you need the same type and value capacitor.
Go to a small indie computer repair shop with a comp sci. or engineering student sweating his *** off and he'll solder it in for cheap lol.
I also like to fix **** like this. Also, many used or junk logicons arent 100%.
But you should learn to solder easier **** first IMHO. GL!

Sorry I did not explain the potentiometer. I would use it for a ****. For the mode switching. I am have a problem with switching modes for air flow. I have tested the motor by apply power the the connector. If the sector motor functions but it well not switch. I just got done resoldering the board. An easy thing to do even for a beginner. Not a perfect job mind you but better then what was there

Oh and I don't need a 6 no capacitor. I should have been instructed to test it.

Some of those joints look awfully close to each other and may potentially short out.

I am more concerned with what he is using the potentiometer for.

That is true, I do recall the factory joints even being close.

Did you check/correct this? See pic. Looks like a broken trace.

Also, I'd try to fix it before rigging something else up like a ****.

Yep I saw that sorry final touch ups did not work. I am still having the same problem. I am going to rig a switch to change it from full defrost to full front. By shaping the power and ground to the motor from these wires

Logicon-forumrunner_20140918_142218.jpg

If you swap power and ground around on those two wires you get your vent control motor
