hmmm lets see. since you have an '86 that means no factory alarm, so breaking into your car won't kill the battery with the flashing lights and honking horn and whatnot. If you had an FB they are pretty easy to break into; I don't know about the FC I've never locked myself out of it. You might want to try a coathanger through the top of the door; the problem is the door rail on the FC is so heavy duty you won't get much flex out of it and may not be able to manuever the hanger that well. Good luck though; you can always try other keys; alot of the 1st gen keys are interchangable from car to car.
You need a wedge(small piece of wood), pull the top of the door open as much as possible. Stick the wedge in to keep it open. Dunno what kind of locks you have but I think both of the locks are the same and can be pulled up pretty easy. Go get a 5 gallon bucket & take off the handle. Bend it for use & stick it down there and unlock it (hangers are wayyy to flemsy).
heres some help , i had the same issue as you did except well mine happend last week with all 3 of my sets!!!! i have an 88 gtu and an 89 gtu which i just got from my g/f as a christmas preasent but anywho i used the key from the 89 and opened the doors on my 88 so if u can get a key from any FC it will WORK!!!! so good luck!!
