What parts break in the door from a slim jim???

Getting in should take only about 10 seconds, at most, but my secret will never be reveiled...

well actually you need a 10mm wrench. But thats already too much info.

removing the molding is the quickest way man. with shaved handles dont you still need the rods in the door to unlock the locks??? If so then you could pop the doors removing the moldings as well

lol... the "How to properly break into an RX-7" thread... i love it.. lol

id always heard that in the fc's day, it was one of the most stolen cars because of the door handle... it was somewhat easy to pop out and get into...

Take this knowledge and use it to keep others out

I have a friend who puts keys in the gas flapper door but that wouldn't work for a 7. you could keep one hidden somewhere on th eunderside of the car make a little thing that clamps the key to the underside.

i was on a drive with a bunch of other rx7's... me and another second gen owner tryed our own keys on each other's cars... they opened the doors no problem... but would not turn in the ignition.... damn ... LOL

i really don't like how easy it really is to break into a 2nd gen, thats why i keep it behind a locked gate, in a parking garage... also i never leave any bags, or the faceplate of my stereo or anything for that mater... so as to not TEMPT people to break into it.

a hidden-from-view fuel cutoff would be good protection if someone get's the door open, they can't hotwire it . It'd be cheap insurance both against theives and to help with the deflooding procedure. (ooh ooh you could put it in that center armrest opening thing)

hell fi you do this you can just leave the car unlocked with the faceplate out. see no threadjacking, I gave a maethod to not worry about locking the keys inside. although I do want to know how you managed ot do this on accident with that "pull the handle when closing" feature. Were you getting stuff out through the hatch and it fell onto the cargo floor?

Mazda has the key code to every rx7 all you need is a VIN. But, mazda wants lots of money for factory keys.

A long time ago, when i got my first rx7, i got it with no keys, and it was locked (i got it from an auto auction) i had an asian locksmith unlock it, real old guy. He went in through the right side of the doorwith a hanger and flat head screw driver, the hanger was only about 4 inches long. He had the car unlocked in less than 30 seconds. the hanger never went inside to the cabin of the car, i tried to ask him how he did it, but he didnt know any english, just unlock door for 20 bucks.

I looked at the door right there for a long time, and ive never been able to figure out how the hell he did it. Now what i do (cause ive locked my keys in the car TOO many times) is, I made 2 spares, 1 stays at home, one stays in my small change pocket of my jeans, and the rest of my keys in my pocket, i only use the spare. And i like it like that, i dont have to hear all (i have a lot) of my keys hitten **** when i drive.

he used the screwdriver to move the felt/rubber out of the way of the window and put a small hoocked rod/hanger down looped the latch wire, and pulled, then pushed the hanger down farther and twsited the hook out of way of th ewire, and pulled it back up. Try it yourself if you think you can do it withou breaking anything, it's useful info i leanred on TV. Never tried it though, I never lose keys.
