Which light is the ENGINE CHECK LIGHT?

Ok i'm being stupid I agree

Yes I've searched but none off the threads actually says which light the Engine check light is?

I guess it's on the warning light cluster

I've check the Handbook and the FSM with nothing saying an Engine check light, nearest is a Engine oil pressure warning.

I'm trying to find fault codes, my car has gone into limp mode, I've done the jumper so I just hoped the flashing light would be the one. only none are flashing. For all i know that bulb has blown.

Thanks Guys

WTF on my car that is the 'Fog light' light!!

could it be that UK cars don't come with the Engine Check Light? And as it's an 1989 S5 will I still be able to make one?

It would be in the idiot light cluster. If you do not see one, you do not have one, and your idiot light cluster is incorrect for your model year or the car is a fake.

Ok I've checked with all my UK rotary club mates with Turbo FC and none have a Engine check Light!!

Must be absent from the european model

Here in the UK the S4 only came as NA and the S5 only came as turbo.

Also looking at the above diagram, I've also not got Hatch, door or seat belt warnings.

Are you sure that the bulbs just are not burnt out, or that they really are blank.

Because of the few UK spec logicons I have seen, they all had door and hatch and rear fog light.

No Hatch, we have hazard lights

Yes we have door

Yes The fog light is where the Engine Check Light should be. This is now my 3rd FC turbo 2 and have all been the same.

On the european version of the FC, what is the "add Coolant" on the euro spec warning lights? I know my radiator i leaking, is this the radiator warning light going off in my car? i cant really find anything searching and neither in the FSM 91 Manual Thing is my buddie says he thinks there is no way the car knows the radiator is leaking,...so what does this Warning- light mean?

Your buddy is wrong, there is a little sensor that screw into the top of the radiator, when the coolant in the radiator drops out of reach of the sensor it sets of the low coolant light letting you know that it has dropped below an acceptable level. Where does he get that anyway? Your leaking coolant, when your low the "Add Coolant" light comes on, cause and effect.

Ok, so i checked the oil level and it was waaay too low, filled that up and went for a drive too see if the water in the radiator stopped boiling, it didnt, i continued too fill up the radiator frequently but it still overheats, and the fan for the radiator is running and the engine heat indicator inside the car says its all good, why does it keep boiling?

Sounds like your engine has kicked the bucket, thats how mine was, rebuild or replace.

Because the combustion is leaking into the water passages much like if you had a piston engine and had blown a head gasket. Unrepairable unless you rebuild the engine. A rebuild done fairly right cost close to a grand and more if YOU do it yourself. A halfass rebuild??? Got me, I'm not into that.

Chunk the car.

And FYI, series four cars have no engine check light. We don't need no stinking light to figure out up from down.

So because the the radiator boils i need a full engine rebuild? I mean, it performs as it should, no powerloss ot anything and the indicators inside the car show normal operating temp on everything..

Unfortunetly yes, welcome to the weird world of rotarys, forget everything you think you know about an engine, and prepare to be confused and pissed off for the next few years while you relearn everything!

Aaw that sux ***** Im gonna start with buying a new race-radiator and see if that fixes the problem, if that dont, how do i go about fixing my problem? Should i start with just taking the car down too the rotor specialist downtown and have him test all my engine vitals?

Its not your radiator, its your engine, thats where its boiling then entering your radiator already boiled. I wouldnt waste your money on a radiator that you could save towards a new motor

So go get a check up then? the engine was overhauled 2 years ago....just had a chat with a buddy, apparently rebuild isnt what i think it is, i thought i needed a new housing or even new rotors, but all i gotta do i take the engine apart and replace all seals ( not the apex seals) and put it back together?
