That's a hard one to pinpoint, I've heard of rotary engines that go before 50K miles and others that exceed 250K miles.

BTW, if you are new to rotaries, then how do you know your seal are bad?

i have asked and people have told me... i am new to rotaries but not cars. i know when my car is throwing out tons of bluish smoke it is most likely a rear seal. plus you can smell it.

there's a lot of seals. in fact, if your engine is going or has a problem, there's a good chance some seal is involved. 'which one' is a different story. i'm not sure why you're blaming the rear seal. there's plenty of others.

anywhere from 100K-200K seems to be normal for an n/a. 150-200K is Icemark's number for a well taken care of n/a FC. difference here is you're doing a rebuild. personally, i would have a rotary specialist rebuild it. i don't know how much the number varies for a rebuilt motor. i guess the quality of the parts and quality of the build are so important and can stray far from each other.

The condition of the rotor housings in the rebuild dictate probably 90% of the life expectancy of the rebuild...
