The whole point of ME doint A/W is to not block the radiator rom front air coming in. I slanted the intercooler just like the radiator and oil coolers are slanted but in the opposite direction. It looks like a front mount on my car but its deff not. I bougt my kit from frozen boost.com

The radiator is mounted on the passanger side in front of the stock radiator. It sits about 1/2" above the oil cooler. I dont run ac so it mounts to the condensor mounting points.

XJR has water to air stock, so it had whatever it came from england with...

speaking of ice boxes, my friend has a cool suit, and he melts the ice in his cooler in a 15 minute session...

EXACTLY wht I was looking for! any idea of what sort of power it will support? I want to build the car to handle over 400 whp, but have a mild tune in the 350 range. Im about tolook at your build and hope that there are pics on yours.

I have been planning to use a/w on my TII project for a couple years now. I have all of the parts/pieces to do the project but I've been sidetracked with my vert resto project. I must say I like your setup. Do you have a thread or perhaps additional pics of your setup for us to look at?

lol. if hes on this forum i know who it is....i can drive approx. 2 hours in 90 degree weather. my car is a street car. pumps/ tubing/ INSALATION plays huge rolls. think when you get into your car on a 90 degree day and the sun has been beating in it all day. now throw a bag of ice in there see how long it last also put a pump in there that produces heat. dont take long..

OK, after talking to a friend who knows a lot about this stuff. he says for my goals of 350 whp a stock tmic flows fine. It would be less headache and add to the clean engine bay. decisions...

Sorry no other pictures. I used 1"x 1/4" plate steel to make mounting brackets for the heat exchanger. It took a lot of brain storming to get it to work without cutting or drilling anything.

you could add a little water spray or water injection for a good +1

Anyone ever attempt to insulate a topmount from all the extreme heat? If it's possible to keep a large amount of heat off the bottom and sides, it could definitely be an improvement.

we put temp sensors on it, and surprisingly, when you're moving, temps actually stay under control.

i guess what i'm saying is put some instrumentation on it first, its not that bad

At speed temps on it would drop. There'd still be some heat getting to it. Might just be marginal gains. But gains are gains.

That's one of the big reasons why I dove after alcohol injection as a charge cooler - don't like the idea of a big thick aluminum brick blocking the radiator and oil cooler.
