Racing Beat front and rear sway bars.

Mazdatrix triangulated front strut (strut towers, firewall, engine), and I had it chromed.

Cusco rear strut brace.

Koni Adjustables.

Racing Beat rear camber link.

Relocated the battery to passenger storage.

Tripoint custom coilover mod on OEM struts, which allows for corner balancing and lowers the car about 1.5". (Forget about Tripoint, they lost it years ago. My horror stories with them would curdle your blood, but there was a day when they had a guy in the shop who really knew how to set up performance suspension on a 2 Gen.) They are overpriced piston sucking sellouts now.

2850 lbs., near perfect 50/50/50 balance with 200 lbs. driver and .5 tank of gas.

Pirelli P7000 on OZ Volcano 17 x 8 wheels -- this required HR spacers in front, rolled fenders, and longer studs.

This car handles seriously well.

One of the most important components of your suspension: Tires! Don't forget to get a good set of tires! I use Toyo Proxes T1-S tires, because they have decent tread wear, and they also are on par in terms of dry grip with the BFG G-forces and Bridgestone Potenza S-03 PPs. They're also crazy good for wet roads.

Ted - how easy/difficult was the install for the Cusco rear bar? How much cutting did you have to do? I'm sorta interested in getting one...

I had a 2" bimetal hole saw on hand, and I eyeballed the holes.  I found out later that Cusco had instructions included in the plastic bag.

After cutting the two holes, it was easy to install the bar in the rear.  I have no carpet back there, so it made it easy to install.

I'll bet not having carpet makes the install a lot easier. Oh well, I don't think a rear strut tower bar would make THAT much of a difference.

I'm sure there's a good joke answer in that, but...

That steel Mazdatrix strut is no lightweight item. Then add in the Cusco rear strut, the heavier-than-stock sway bars, a Dynaspray interior, a Donnelly electric mirror, a stereo system with amp, 10 cd changer, big speakers in custom door pods, and a high end Viper alarm. Add all my Greddy engine control hardware on top of that and you have more than 50 pounds. It's just that I stripped out more than 50 pounds when I did my custom rear hatch floor and storage area.

I just wish my car was lower!

my rear strut bar made a HUGE difference. its unexplanable. just made the whole car feel stiffer, and more responsive.

I think he was talking about the third 50 in your 50/50/50 weight balance, not the extra 50 lbs.
