Lean under WOT.

When I take off, my car goes very lean. It was mentioned I may have a vacume tube on wrong, or missing. I removed the emmisions, and did the TB mod. I also did the Fuel Pump Relay Mod.

If I hooked up the wires on the Fuel Relay mod backwards, could this affect my fuel delivery under wot?

how lean is lean? when you hammer on the throttle it is fairly normal to see the engine lean out for a second or 2 until the airflow catches up with the demand.

PLayed with it at lunch, so here is a fresh update. I can get it to idle around 850- 900rpm. Little sputters. When I throw it into gear, that is when the real bucking starts.

My wideband reads 11.1-14.1 when in idle, and in gear it goes from 16.1-20.1+. Aren't those lean numbers? The wideband is new to me. I have calibrated it a couple times, same readings.

yea that is too lean, at idle it should be ~11.5:1, just on the gas you might see 14-15:1, in low boost up to 5-7psi 11.2:1 is about as lean as you want to see and higher than that 10.5:1 is a safe number.

S-o when the numbers go high like that, it is lean. The lower numbers reflect rich?
Man, I am sooo close to driving this thing.

I must go over my vacume lines again. There are only three lines needed, right? After a rats removal.

On a FPR, putting vacume on it, does it clamp the flow, or open the flow of gas? I have a Aeromotive FPR.

on the fpr vacume will lower fuel pressure, boost will raise fuel pressure(by restricting the return line).. try raising the baseline pressure 5 psi and see if the car likes it...

yes sir it will , with the car idiling spray car cleaner or starting fluid around the intake system , if the idle changes your close to the leak

I'm sorry for teh nubish question, but what is a wideband? Sounds like a computer that checks A/F ratio.

Well, I found a leak under my bac between the UIM and the LIM. I could not hear it, but with a can of carb cleaner, and that little straw, i can hit it just right. I have already removed them, put new gasket on, and used the best sealer I could buy. No luck, still sucking air. So, I will try my other UIM and LIM.

Warped? Cracked?
hell, not sure.

A wideband is a more accurate and more precise O2 sensor than what comes stock. It allows for proper tuning of air-fuel ratios.
